  • Can I use anything besides salt in the BUG-A-SALT?

    NO! Using other substances will cause problems with your gun. Warranty is voided if other substances are used.

  • Is the gun dangerous?

    No, only if misused: Do not shoot anyone in face or eyes. Treat it with respect like any firearm. It will not penetrate skin or damage furniture.

  • What kind of salt does it use?

    Any ordinary granulated table salt.

  • Will the salt splatter the bug?

    No, the bug will remain whole for easy clean up.

  • Can you provide parts so I can repair my gun?

    Due to supply chain issues, we want to make sure our customers are aware BUG-A-SALT cannot offer replacement parts for the guns.  On our end, please note BUG-A-SALT is aware there are videos on YOUTUBE showing folks how to repair our guns.  Sorry to report, BUG-A-SALT is not affiliated with the folks creating repair videos, and we absolutely cannot supply parts right now (as the video might suggest).

  • How much salt does the gun shoot?

    A pinch of salt.

  • What is the accuracy range of the gun?

    Within three feet is ideal. Practice accuracy by shooting aluminum foil to see salt spray pattern.

  • How many shots before I need to reload?

    The gun will hold about 70-80 shots before reloading.

  • Will the Bug-A-Salt gun kill mosquitoes?

    The Bug-a-salt is extremely effective at killing mosquitoes.

  • What is the best type of lubricant to use on the Bug-A-Salt?

    Vaseline has been the most successful lubricant when it comes to taking care of the plastic. Apply on the handle of the cocking mechanism. WD40 has worked optimally as well.

  • How do I install the Bug-Beam on to my Bug-A-Salt gun?

  • How do I unclog a salt pin?

  • What do we do with the used SHRED-ER Patented Salt Ammo Cartridges?

    Since they are ABS plastic resin we encourage that you recycle them with your other plastic recyclables.  They are NOT to be re-used.

  • How many shots can you get from one BUG-A-SALT CO2 Cartridge?

    You will get about 60 high powered shots.

  • What if my gun breaks? 

  • If the trouble shooting doesn’t help, you’re in luck! Lorenzo stands by our product and we take our 1-year warranty policy against factory defects seriously.

  • If you are past 1-year, we offer a 2-year limited warranty program. On a case by case basis, we do our best to take care of any issues our customers are having.

    Please do not disassemble your BUG-A-SALT/SHRED-ER blaster, or do something stupid like put sand in it, as this will void our warranty policy.
